Laser Eye Surgery

In the UK, around 100,000 people undergo laser eye surgery every single year* – that’s almost one person every five minutes whose life is utterly transformed into a world free from the hassle of needing to wear glasses or contact lenses.

Your personal consultation is an opportunity to visit AVC’s laser suite and the team, giving you plenty of time to ask questions or share any concerns you may have. Following this appointment, Medical Director Mr. C.T. Pillai will create a tailor-made treatment plan that’s right for you and your lifestyle. Please be rest assured that at AVC we only treat patients if we believe that we can make a real difference to the quality of your sight.

As one of the UK’s leading independent corrective eye clinics, AVC is unquestionably at the forefront of laser eye surgery innovation, boasting market-leading technology, world-renowned surgeons and the highest quality patient care. We genuinely believe that you won’t find better treatment anywhere else, and as nothing is as valuable as your eyesight, isn’t it time that you saw the world in full colour?

IntraLase

At AVC we offer world class consultancy and the latest technological innovation, including the IntraLase Femtosecond laser, also known as ‘blade-free’ technology.

IntraLase is a 100% blade-free technique used to perform the critical first step in the Lasik procedure: creating the corneal flap. The creation of the corneal flap prepares the eye for the second step of the Lasik procedure, where an excimer laser is used on the inner cornea to correct vision. It uses tiny, rapid pulses of laser light to create this. Each pulse of light passes through the top layers of your cornea and forms a microscopic bubble at a specific depth and position within your eye that is determined by your surgeon. The IntraLase laser moves back and forth across your eye, creating a uniform layer of bubbles just beneath your corneal surface.

IntraLase provides AVC’s surgeons with unparalleled control to deliver bespoke precision-designed treatments with faster healing times and better results.

Wavefront Technology

Wavefront is the latest technology available to treat vision correction.

Wavefront treatment is a personalised system because, not only does it correct your prescription, but it also addresses aberrations or imperfections which occur naturally in your eyes. Each treatment is therefore unique to the patient.

AVC operates the latest Wavefront technology: Zyoptix from Technolas (Bausch & Lomb). This system generates a Wavefront map, which is used diagnostically for the initial consultation and post-operative analysis to ensure the best possible treatment is provided. Sophisticated software then converts the Wavefront map into a unique treatment plan, which in turn will be electronically transferred to a computer controlling the laser itself.

The benefits of Wavefront technology include patients experiencing a higher quality of vision day-to-day, in poor lighting, during twilight and during night driving.

Zyoptix

AVC’s Zyoptix system for personalised vision treatments uses the latest version of the tried and tested Technolas z100 laser (Bausch & Lomb). Suitable patients will be offered  Zyoptix  because it offers superior quality of vision compared to standard LASIK. This laser has been specifically designed for customised laser eye treatments and consistently achieves a high standard of vision.

The Zyoptix system means that the laser treatment is unique to each eye, so the treatment you receive is designed specifically to treat your individual vision imperfections.
